Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that during its most recent interdiction operations, 1,008 foreigners<\/a><\/strong> in an irregular migratory status were detained, while 1,304 people were deported through the various border control posts, as part of the actions to strengthen migratory control in the country<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interventions were carried out in several sectors of Greater Santo Domingo and the National District, including Villa Mella, Cristo Rey, Herrera, and Villa Faro<\/strong>, as well as other provinces where authorities reinforced migration control efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the institution, 761 of the detainees<\/strong> were arrested by the Rapid Reaction Agents (ARR)<\/strong> of the DGM, while 247<\/strong> were handed over by State security and defense agencies that collaborate in these operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the provinces with the highest number of arrests, Santo Domingo<\/strong> topped the list with 112 people<\/strong>, followed by Independencia (93)<\/strong>, Pedernales (75)<\/strong>, La Altagracia (50)<\/strong>, Santiago (49)<\/strong>, and El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a (46)<\/strong>. Operations were also reported in La Vega, Valverde, Barahona, Dajab\u00f3n, San Juan, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez, Puerto Plata, La Romana, Bahoruco, Peravia, Saman\u00e1, and Azua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Valverde province, authorities carried out simultaneous interventions in communities such as Maizal, El Bombillo, El Puente, Esperanza, Boca de Mao, and La Compuerta<\/strong>, with the joint participation of immigration agents, police, and military personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DGM indicated that the 1,304 deportations<\/strong> were carried out by the border control posts of El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a (721 people)<\/strong>, Dajab\u00f3n (271)<\/strong>, Jiman\u00ed (216)<\/strong>, and Pedernales (96)<\/strong>, following the procedures established in the General Migration Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
