Colombian authorities extradited the Venezuelan citizen Dayonis Junior Orozco Castillo<\/strong>, alias \u201cBotija\u201d<\/strong>, to Chile this Thursday, who is accused of being one of the material authors<\/strong> of the kidnapping and murder of the former Venezuelan military officer, Ronald Ojeda<\/strong>, in Santiago in 2024<\/strong>. In parallel, the U.S. ratified the deportation to the country of Rafael Enrique G\u00e1mez Salas<\/strong>, alias \u201cEl Turko,\u201d<\/strong> identified as the intellectual author<\/strong> of the assassination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Orozco, also accused of the crime against Carabineros officer Emmanuel S\u00e1nchez,<\/strong> was arrested in the Colombian city of Popay\u00e1n on April 23, 2024, after escaping from Chile and passing through Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His arrival in the country comes as the Public Prosecutor’s Office prepares the trial against 20 defendants, all members of the “Los Piratas de Aragua”<\/strong> faction, who carried out the operation that ended the life of the ill-fated former lieutenant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The Chilean Prosecutor’s Office maintains the thesis that Ojeda’s crime was \u201cpolitical\u201d<\/strong> and orchestrated in Venezuela<\/strong> by none other than Diosdado Cabello<\/strong> as one of those responsible, which is why there are also negotiations with the US government to interrogate the former dictator, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAny new defendant or detainee will be included in the ongoing case, which could include authorities from that country (Venezuela), if the evidence so determines. In this context, it is confirmed that the potential participation in this crime by individuals serving in the Venezuelan government, such as Mr. Diosdado Cabello, continues to be specifically investigated,\u201d<\/strong> states the indictment presented by the Prosecutor’s Office in December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>According to a report by Ciper<\/em>, the investigation led by prosecutor H\u00e9ctor<\/strong> Barros<\/strong> includes two statements<\/strong> from associates of Rafel G\u00e1mez<\/strong> (The \u201cTurko\u201d),<\/strong> leader of the \u201cPiratas de Aragua,\u201d the cell that carried out the crime, and an audio recording of \u201cGordo Alex\u201d<\/strong>\u2014one of the leaders of the Tren de Aragua in the country\u2014which prove that Ojeda\u2019s murder was planned in Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first testimony corresponds to one of the \u201cTurko’s\u201d trusted men, who assured detectives that the order to kill Ojeda came directly from the top boss of the Tren de Aragua, H\u00e9ctor Guerrero Flores<\/strong> – alias \u201cNi\u00f1o Guerrero\u201d -, which was transmitted in Chile by Carlos \u201cBobby\u201d G\u00f3mez.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey call Ni\u00f1o Guerrero \u2018el Cejas\u2019 (the Eyebrows), and the instruction was given by him and came down through Bobby, reaching Turko, (\u2026). Likewise, Jos\u00e9 Carlos (Valverde, one of the subjects who carried out Ojeda’s kidnapping), told me that Diosdado Cabello, who is a Venezuelan politician, gave the instruction to carry out the kidnapping through Ni\u00f1o Guerrero, paying through him, considering that the military officer was not linked to any type of crime such as drugs, weapons, or any other situation\u201d<\/strong>, states the declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same witness detailed that ten days before the kidnapping he was contacted and included in a WhatsApp<\/em> group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the (chat) were \u2018Turko\u2019 and \u2018Chanel\u2019, who are two leaders within the criminal structure operating in Chile; in addition to them, there were some friends and acquaintances, whom I know as \u2018Mudo\u2019, \u2018Jose Carlos Valverde\u2019, \u2018Edgar\u2019, \u2018Yolvi Gonzalez\u2019, \u2018Monito\u2019, \u2018Morocho\u2019, and \u2018Gordo Ale\u2019. In that group, Turko wrote that \u2018Bobby\u2019 had entrusted him with a job and that apparently it was quite complicated and had to be done dressed as PDI, which is why several tasks were assigned through that group\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rafael Enrique G\u00e1mez Salas, alias \u201cEl Turko\u201d, was allegedly the mastermind behind the crime of Ojeda and will be extradited from the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, this same Thursday the U.S. confirmed that the deportation<\/strong> to Chile of \u201cEl Turko\u201d has been authorized, who is allegedly the mastermind behind the kidnapping and murder of Ojeda, a matter that could be finalized next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second member of the gang, identified as \u201cProtected Witness No. 7\u201d, recognized \u201cEl Turko\u201d as their leader and asserted that a certain Jos\u00e9 Carlos Valverde<\/strong>\u2014who remains a fugitive\u2014told him that Ojeda\u2019s crime was \u201cordered by the government of Venezuela, planned by the leaders of the Tren de Aragua, and executed by the members of that gang who were in Chile, with the money being paid by the government; however, I am unaware of the figures and who had to pay them.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, that once the murder was committed they had to flee to Peru<\/strong>, where they would be paid for the \u201cjob\u201d done. “Larry Changa”, one of the founders of Tren de Aragua, was extradited to Chile this Wednesday and is accused of several extortion kidnappings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExtraditions<\/strong> have been taking place in a much more expeditious<\/strong> manner than we even thought, and faster, therefore we believe that during this year we should have everyone who is detained in the extradition process at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office<\/strong>,\u201d asserted the prosecutor, H\u00e9ctor Barros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extraditions of \u201cBotija\u201d and \u201dEl Turko\u201d are in addition to the deportation to Chile from Colombia of Larry Amaury \u00c1lvarez N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/strong>, alias \u201cLarry Changa\u201d,<\/strong> one of the founders of the Tren de Aragua, signed on Wednesday by President Gustavo Petro<\/strong>, who will be tried in Chile for other extortionate kidnappings that ended in homicides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
