While awaiting a possible dialogue between the National Association of Gasoline Retailers (Anadegas) and card payment providers, namely Visanet Dominicana, CardNET, and Azul, to resolve the complaint regarding the high cost of such services, stations affiliated with this association continue to accept payments through that method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union suspended, until further notice, the threat of withdrawing the verifones in its more than 780 affiliated stations across the country, given the possibility that a dialogue will be held between both sectors so that they can reach an agreement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Tuesday, the sectors were to meet with the mediation of the Government, however, it has not been officially confirmed where this meeting would be and who would participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The possibility of this meeting arises following the complaint expressed by the president of Anadegas, Juan El\u00edas P\u00e9rez, who explained that the association believes the commissions applied by electronic payment processing companies significantly reduce the profit margins of retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alternatively, he proposed replacing the percentage currently charged with a fixed fee of RD$0.30 per transaction, considering that this scheme would be more equitable for service stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Anadegas, conversations with financial institutions and payment processing companies are ongoing, although so far no agreement has been reached that would allow the measure to be lifted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
