Santo Domingo.<\/strong>– The Government will maintain the allocation of 4.05% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the educational system<\/strong> in the 2027 General State Budget, as part of the Budgetary Policy approved this Monday by the Council of Ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision was adopted during the fifty-ninth meeting of the Council of Ministers, led by President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a, in which the main guidelines for public spending for the coming year were defined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As explained by the Minister of the Presidency, Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza, investment in education will continue to be one of the Government’s priorities<\/strong>, with the goal of strengthening human capital and advancing the development goals contemplated in Meta RD 2036.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to preserving the investment equivalent to 4.05% of GDP<\/strong>, the budget contemplates the continuity of the Horizon 2034 Plan<\/strong>, a strategy aimed at increasing the effective years of learning for Dominican students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The budgetary policy also provides resources for the construction and expansion of educational centers<\/strong>, the creation of new classrooms<\/strong>, and the expansion of the National School Transport Program<\/strong>, with the purpose of increasing access and improving the conditions of the educational system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paliza stated that the 2027 Budget Policy responds to a long-term vision, focused on allocating public resources toward projects with high social and economic impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official maintained that “every peso of the budget will be oriented toward accelerating the country’s transformation<\/strong>” through investments that strengthen human capital, expand opportunities for the population, and develop the infrastructure necessary to sustain economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
