More than 300 kilometers of inter-plot roads are being improved through the \u201cOpening Paths\u201d program, which is being executed by the Ministry of Agriculture with the purpose of guaranteeing producers safer and more efficient access to their properties, reducing transport costs, and strengthening agricultural activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The work is currently being carried out in the Cibao Nordeste (Bajo Yuna), Casta\u00f1uela, La Vega, Rio Yab\u00f2n, Cama Larga in El Seibo, and Montecristi regional offices, where tasks such as road shaping, leveling, filling of critical points, drainage conditioning, and other actions aimed at improving transitability are being executed, especially in communities where the deterioration of the roads hinders the transport of supplies, equipment, and harvests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme, highlighted that these interventions seek to facilitate the transport of crops so that agricultural products reach the market faster and at a lower commercial cost, reduce losses caused by access difficulties, and contribute to increased productivity, benefiting thousands of producers and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI reaffirm that the improvement of rural infrastructure constitutes a priority to boost the development of the agricultural sector, increase the competitiveness of national production, and improve the quality of life of rural communities,\u201d the official stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cAbriendo Caminos\u201d (Opening Paths) program, which began last April, is part of the main thematic axes of the current administration, in order to improve the conditions of the country’s producers, as this allows them to reach the national market with their products more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of this effort, the ministry is working at an accelerated pace on an action plan together with the directors of the institution’s eight regional offices in order to execute a schedule of priorities alongside the Ministry of Public Works and the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (Indrhi).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
