Caracas .- <\/strong>Venezuelan opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mar\u00eda Corina Machad<\/a>o, <\/a>reiterated this Tuesday that she will return to her country and that this is a promise being fulfilled “step by step.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I will return. Not as an event, but as a promise that is fulfilled step by step, because my place is there, with you. And when we meet, we are going to lift this country up from the same side we have always been on,” wrote Machado on her X account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this sense, he added that they have “placed obstacles” in his way, but stressed that they cannot prevent his support for those affected by the recent earthquakes, which have left 3,535 people dead and 16,740 injured, according to the latest government report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I know you feel that the days when the whole world looks toward Venezuela are coming to an end, and that the hardest part is coming now: the silence, the dust, the waiting. And I know that many fear that we too will abandon you, that the country will forget when the cameras turn off. I want you to know this: we will never abandon you,” promised Machado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Friday, Machado said that she has not requested protection to return to Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
