Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The Dr. Ney Arias Lora Traumatological University Teaching Hospital<\/a> inaugurated<\/strong> its new Cardio-Metabolic, Bariatric, and Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit, a specialized space dedicated to the comprehensive treatment of patients with metabolic diseases, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other conditions associated with metabolic syndrome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center’s director, Dr. V\u00edctor Rosario, highlighted that the creation of this unit expands the hospital’s portfolio of specialized services and reiterates the institutional commitment to innovation, medical excellence, and quality care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With the opening of this Cardio-Metabolic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit, we are taking a transcendental step to continue offering highly specialized services within the public health system. Our goal is to provide patients with safe, effective treatments and cutting-edge technology that will allow them to improve their quality of life,” stated Rosario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The specialist pointed out that the new unit will also contribute to strengthening the academic training of resident physicians and specialists, consolidating the hospital as a national benchmark in high-complexity care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her part, the head of the unit, Dr. Estephanie Solano Carri\u00f3n, a bariatric and metabolic surgeon, explained that the service will offer a multidisciplinary approach to ensure better results for patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Obesity and metabolic diseases represent one of the greatest challenges for public health. In this unit, we will offer comprehensive care, with a multidisciplinary team that will accompany the patient before, during, and after surgery, always under updated scientific protocols and with a humanized approach,” stated Solano Carri\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
