Santo Domingo\u2013<\/strong> The National Association of Social Security Affiliates (ASONAFISS)<\/a> questioned the mediation being carried out by the Dominican Association of Health Risk Administrators (ADARS) in the conflict generated by the demand from the Dominican Association of Private Clinics (ANDECLIP) to increase the payment per patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entity stated that ADARS has for years placed its economic interests above the human condition of the system’s affiliates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joel Rodr\u00edguez, president of ASONAFISS, lamented that, despite the millions of pesos that Health Risk Administrators (ARS) receive through transfers made by the Social Security Treasury on behalf of affiliates, they are denied the right to receive medical care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe believe that this type of mediation by the association that groups the ARS is to the detriment of the affiliates and the Dominican Social Security System. We are not the ones saying it; it is reflected in the statistics of the deceased, the low investment in prevention plans, and the scarce initiatives promoted by the National Social Security Council (CNSS) to strengthen the rights of the affiliates,\u201d stated Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leader pointed out that it is not possible for an institution linked to the system to contribute to blocking access for people who require medical procedures and that, by denying authorizations, it places affiliates in a vulnerable situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that sense, Rodr\u00edguez maintained that there is no justification for ADARS to reject an increase in rates, within a system that, in his view, has benefited the health insurance sector for more than two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the ASONAFISS Observatory, we will evaluate different methods to prevent ANDECLIP from denying the rights of Social Security affiliates, including mobilizations, marches, and proposals for the benefit of our members,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Joel Rodr\u00edguez assured that ASONAFISS will continue working in defense of its members and the rights of the system’s affiliates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
