{"id":514773,"date":"2026-07-11T09:37:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T13:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/china-evacuates-1-7-million-people-due-to-typhoon-bavi-which-leaves-people-injured-in-taiwan-and-japan\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T09:37:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T13:37:25","slug":"china-evacuates-1-7-million-people-due-to-typhoon-bavi-which-leaves-people-injured-in-taiwan-and-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/china-evacuates-1-7-million-people-due-to-typhoon-bavi-which-leaves-people-injured-in-taiwan-and-japan\/","title":{"rendered":"China evacuates 1.7 million people due to Typhoon Bavi, which leaves people injured in Taiwan and Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Beijing\/Tokyo.- <\/strong>Typhoon Bavi left at least 87 injured in Taiwan this Saturday, caused five minor injuries in Japan, and forced the evacuation of 1.71 million people in China&#8217;s Zhejiang province (east), where the storm is expected to make landfall early Sunday morning after causing massive flight cancellations and rain alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zhejiang raised its typhoon emergency response to level one, the highest, this Saturday as Bavi approaches its central and southern coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At 14:00 local time (06:00 GMT), the National Meteorological Center located the center of the typhoon about 290 kilometers east of the border between Zhejiang and Fujian, over the southeast of the East China Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-alerta-naranja\">Orange alert<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the official forecast, Bavi will move northwest at 30 to 35 kilometers per hour and will make landfall around midnight or early Sunday morning between Sanmen and Cangnan, in Zhejiang, with winds of level 12 to 13, before moving inland and weakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official Xinhua agency reported that Zhejiang has evacuated 1.71 million people and closed 12,154 schools and kindergartens, 444 tourist sites, and 78 cultural venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bavi also caused massive cancellations at airports in eastern China and Taiwan, with activity practically paralyzed at terminals such as Wenzhou and Fuzhou, according to the specialized portal Feichangzhun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China&#8217;s National Meteorological Center maintains the <a href=\"https:\/\/efe.com\/mundo\/2026-07-10\/tifon-bavi-china-taiwan-japon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">orange typhoon alert<\/a> and issued the first red alert of the year for rain, with forecasts of torrential rainfall in Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, and other regions in the east and north of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bavi arrives after a week of natural disasters in China, marked by the rains associated with Typhoon Maysak, which left at least 39 dead in Guangxi;
