Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> The Dominican Government<\/a> inaugurated this Monday the baseball stadium 3 of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, one of the main sports infrastructure works destined for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, whose opening is scheduled for next July 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the authorities agreed that the delivery of the stadiums represents a decisive step in the country’s preparation for hosting the most important multi-sport event in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Bison\u00f3 assured that the Government has fulfilled the commitment made to deliver the facilities under the responsibility of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) on time, highlighting that the works are entering their final stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the stadiums were completely renovated and incorporate a new playing field, bleachers, dugouts, bullpens, locker rooms, drainage and irrigation systems, lighting, and electrical and sanitary facilities in accordance with international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, Minister Kelvin Cruz stated that the transformation of the Olympic Center evidences the investment made by the Government in favor of sports and assured that several facilities have already been completed, while others will be delivered in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he highlighted that the Dominican Republic will welcome more than 6,000 athletes who will compete in more than 40 sports disciplines, becoming the center of regional sports during the celebration of the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the president of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mej\u00eda Oviedo, described the delivery of the works as an act of justice for Dominican youth and sports, considering that the new facilities constitute a legacy for future generations and a response to long-standing demands from sports federations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities reiterated that, although minor cleaning and finishing work continues in outdoor areas of some venues, the competition facilities are ready to host the Games, while final adjustment works are underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
