The Government of Cuba described the most recent round of sanctions against the island, announced today by the U.S. Departments of State and the Treasury, as “an open war against the entire people.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“U.S. policy toward Cuba is an open war against the entire people<\/strong>. They cannot even claim to be unaware of the damage they cause<\/a>, for damage, at the highest level, is what they seek. The frustration of failing to meet conquest plans leads them to an increasingly criminal attitude,” wrote<\/a> Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez de Coss\u00edo on his X profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As stated in the statement<\/a> released by the U.S. administration, the new coercions aim to further restrict “the sources of funding” of the Cuban State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the State Department, the measures are part of what is contemplated in Executive Order 14.404<\/a>, signed by President Donald Trump on May 1, 2026, and are in addition to those already weighing on five other entities<\/a>, three of which are related to the Business Administration Group S.A.
