Santo Domingo<\/strong>.\u2013 The Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Arelis Subero Maceo, highlighted that the Master’s Degree in Collective Management of Artistic and Cultural Productions represents a milestone for higher education and the creative industry in the region, as it becomes the first of its kind in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subero Maceo explained that the academic program is specialized in collective management, differentiating itself from other offerings focused on copyright or intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is the first one to be done in Latin America regarding collective management. It is not in copyright per se, it is not in intellectual property; it is specifically in collective management,” he\/she expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The academic pointed out that the master’s degree seeks to professionalize those who are part of the cultural industry, including musicians, painters, writers, sculptors, actors, screenwriters, and audiovisual sector professionals, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he maintained that the program will contribute to the institutional strengthening of the country by generating specialized knowledge that will serve as support for agencies linked to law enforcement and the administration of justice in cultural matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is a development step because this will provide a launchpad for scientific advancement in everything related to the cultural industry. It is a great opportunity for professionalism,” he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The dean reported that the master’s degree will last for two years and invited everyone involved in the cultural field to join the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I would like everyone involved in the cultural industry to participate, because this is going to be a turning point in terms of the professionalization of the rights holders, the users who consume our content, and everyone who works around the cultural industry,” he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Master’s Degree in Collective Management of Artistic and Cultural Productions was officially presented by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Postgraduate Studies and the Faculty of Arts of the UASD<\/a>, as part of its fourth-level study offerings for the 2026-2028 cohort.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
