President Claudia Sheinbaum receives<\/strong> at the National Palace<\/strong> the chairman of the Mexico-Japan Economic Committee<\/strong>, Seiji Kuraishi<\/strong>, along with members<\/strong> of the Japan Business<\/strong> Federation and ambassador<\/strong> Kozo Honsei, to discuss investments<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheinbaum <\/strong>stated that in Mexico there are 1,600 Japanese companies<\/strong> that generate 350,000<\/strong> direct jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president states that there is no concern regarding Toyota’s adjustment in Tijuana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The government of Mexico maintains contact with Toyota to review the process and seek \u201cthe best conditions for the workers,\u201d according to the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Claudia Sheinbaum <\/strong>stated that there is no \u201cconcern\u201d<\/strong><\/em> regarding Toyota’s <\/strong>announcement <\/strong>to move <\/strong>part of the production <\/strong>from its plant in Tijuana<\/strong>, Baja California, to the United States<\/strong>, and assured that her government <\/strong>is already in contact with the company <\/strong>to review the process <\/strong>and seek \u201cthe best condition <\/strong>for the workers<\/strong>,\u201d<\/em> according to statements in her morning press conference reported by EFE<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Economy<\/strong> indicated in a statement that the adjustment<\/strong> will occur in a \u201cgradual process<\/strong>\u201d<\/em> that will conclude in 2030<\/strong>, and added that \u201cToyota<\/strong> continues in analysis<\/strong> of the future that the plant<\/strong> will have starting in 2030<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>, according to the agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
