Santo Domingo. \u2013 <\/strong>The Reales de Santiago and the Granjeros de Moca remain the most solid teams in the 17th edition of the National Summer Baseball League (LIBEVE), leading their respective divisions after two weekends of competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royals exhibit a perfect 6-0 record to lead the North-Central Division, while the Farmers record 5-1, leading the North-South Division. The current season is dedicated to the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andr\u00e9s Bautista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday’s action featured some great individual performances. In Boca Canasta, the Granjeros defeated the Mangueros de Ban\u00ed 1-0 thanks to a brilliant start by Jhon Henr\u00edquez, who worked four scoreless innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Salcedo, the Arroceros de San Francisco de Macor\u00eds defeated the Capitanes 4-2 with another solid performance by veteran Ra\u00fal Vald\u00e9s, who pitched four scoreless innings to extend his streak to nine consecutive innings without allowing runs at the start of the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Reales starred in one of the most exciting games of the weekend by defeating the Atl\u00e9ticos de Puerto Plata 11-10 in extra innings, deciding the game with a sacrifice fly by Gregory Dur\u00e1n, who entered as a pinch hitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the day, the national champions, Mineros de Bonao, defeated the Bravos de La Vega 3-1 at the La Vega Olympic Stadium, supported by a pitching gem from Manny Correa, who pitched five scoreless innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Santiago reasserted its dominance by defeating the Arroceros 14-1 by knockout at the Ram\u00f3n A. Perdomo stadium. Deury Ramos led the offense by batting 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, while Gregory Dur\u00e1n went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Snafe \u00c1lvarez finished 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, and one RBI.

In Moca, the Granjeros beat the Bravos 8-1 with an outstanding performance by Jojanse Torres, who pitched five innings of one-run ball. On offense, Wander A. Franco stood out by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For their part, the Mineros reacted at home with a 17-7 victory over the Mangueros. Luis Pe\u00f1a dominated from the mound with six innings of one-run ball and nine strikeouts, while Omar Meregildo hit two home runs and Michael De Le\u00f3n added another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Puerto Plata, the Atl\u00e9ticos defeated the Capitanes 9-7. Junior Rinc\u00f3n pitched five innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts, while Lenny S\u00e1nchez drove in three runs and Jos\u00e9 King contributed two hits and an RBI.

The Sunday slate was highlighted by the historic victory of the Granjeros, who crushed the Mineros de Bonao 21-5 via knockout. Junior Sanquint\u00edn and Christopher Familia hit home runs, while Ricardo C\u00e9spedes Jr. went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs.

The Reales kept their undefeated record intact by prevailing 4-3 over the Capitanes in Salcedo, thanks to a Reggie Cerda single in the ninth inning that broke the tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ban\u00ed, the Bravos defeated the Mangueros 11-3 with an outstanding offensive performance by Yuli Vitini, who hit a home run and drove in four runs. From the mound, Cristopher Ogando worked 5.2 innings, allowing three runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the Arroceros closed the Sunday schedule by defeating the Athletics 8-5 in San Francisco de Macor\u00eds. Jean Luis Garc\u00eda pitched four scoreless innings and Tony Pe\u00f1a led the offense with a 4-for-2 day, a home run, and five runs batted in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actions of the National Summer Baseball League will continue this Friday, July 17, with a full slate of games across all four venues. LIBEVE reminded that the schedule will take a break during the weekends of July 31 to August 2 and August 7 to 9, due to the celebration of the Central American and Caribbean Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this adjustment, the matches originally scheduled for the weekend of July 31 to August 2 will be moved forward to July 24, 25, and 26, dates that were initially free on the official calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
