These improvements, which contribute to the electrical stability of seven sectors, positively impact approximately 24,500 users.

Another project being considered is the construction of a new circuit, the UASD108, at the UASD 138 kV Substation, which will allow for the redistribution of energy load, reducing the overload on the UASD104 circuit. With the new circuit, more than 5,000 users across about seven sectors will have a more stable service.

Also, the reconfiguration of the distribution network is planned through the partial load transfer between several circuits belonging to the Hato Nuevo, Cabayona, DISDO, Zona Franca de Los Alcarrizos, Herrera Nueva, Herrera 138 kV, Kilómetro 10 ½ de la Autopista Duarte, Los Prados, and Centro de Operaciones de Herrera electrical substations.

Such works will contribute to the reduction of overload risk in critical circuits, to improving voltage profiles, reducing technical losses, and strengthening system operation during periods of high demand.

Other interventions

The Distribution Network Optimization and Improvement Projects planned for 2026 also include the Las Damas substations, in Duvergé, Independencia; Vicente Noble, in Barahona, and San José de Ocoa.

More than 257,000 users in Greater Santo Domingo have already benefited from significant system improvements due to the adaptation and commissioning of the Alfa electrical substation, as well as more than 21,000 users supplied by the Kilómetro 10 ½ of the Duarte Highway, Herrera 138 kV, Los Prados, and Herrera substations.

Likewise, work has been carried out at the Rancho Arriba substations, in San José de Ocoa; Jimaní, in Independencia and Pedernales, which have contributed to improving the efficiency of the supply to thousands of customers.

With an investment amounting to RD$ 649,154,324, Edesur Dominicana is developing an intensive optimization plan for the distribution network in several provinces within its concession area.
