Saman\u00e1.-<\/strong> The political career of Nelson N\u00fa\u00f1ez<\/a> spans more than two decades of public service, a period during which he has held positions in the civil, legislative, and municipal spheres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His career in public administration began as a Civil Registry officer for Santa B\u00e1rbara de Saman\u00e1, a position he held between 1997 and 2001. Subsequently, he was elected deputy for the province of Saman\u00e1 for the 2002-2006 term, representing the constituency in the National Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, he was elected mayor of the municipality of Santa B\u00e1rbara de Saman\u00e1, a position to which he has been re-elected for three consecutive terms (2016-2020, 2020-2024, and 2024-2028), remaining at the head of the city council for twelve years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His participation in the municipal sphere expanded upon being elected president of the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (FEDOMU) for the 2024-2026 period, from where he represents the country’s local governments and participates in discussion spaces regarding public policies related to municipal management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
