His statements come amidst the military escalation that is keeping the Persian Gulf in tension and which has led to a series of attacks between both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Strait of Hormuz is the only passage in the region,&#8221; Shekarchi recalled in statements broadcast by the Tasnim agency. The general stressed that &#8220;they have plundered the countries of the region for years and are a factor of insecurity,&#8221; while &#8220;<strong>the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic<\/strong> over the Strait of Hormuz is a factor of security for the entire region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shekarchi warned that if Iranian infrastructure suffers damage, all U.S. infrastructure in the region will become targets for Tehran. The military spokesperson emphasized that the demand for Washington&#8217;s expulsion <strong>is not an Iranian &#8220;selfish wish&#8221;<\/strong>, but rather a response to the problem posed by the American presence, coming from the other side of the world. &#8220;If the United States were not there, no one in the region would speak ill of others,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the general stressed that Iran has given forceful responses to the enemy and will continue to do so, pointing out that Washington <strong>has received &#8220;firm blows&#8221;<\/strong>. In this context, the spokesperson emphasized that the Iranian doctrine is to attack the enemy with force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The United States and Iran <strong>have been exchanging military strikes for several days<\/strong>, amid an escalation that included U.S. bombings against Iranian territory and Tehran&#8217;s retaliation against Washington&#8217;s bases in the region. The U.S. Central Command also announced the resumption of the naval blockade of Iranian ports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the attacks will continue until Iranian military capabilities are degraded and threatened to attack power plants, bridges, and energy targets if the Islamic Republic does not agree to negotiate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tehran claims it is responding to what it considers <strong>violations of the memorandum of understanding<\/strong> by the United States. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that &#8220;not a single drop of oil or gas&#8221; will be exported from the region as long as U.S. aggressions continue.
