Santo Domingo.- <\/strong>The Catholic University of Santo Domingo (UCSD), in partnership with the Dominican College of Economists (CODECO), recognized the trajectory of outstanding professionals whose contributions have strengthened the economic, academic, and social development of the Dominican Republic, during a ceremony held on the university campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UCSD and CODECO authorities highlighted that this recognition serves as a tribute to excellence, professional ethics, and a commitment to national development, while also valuing the contribution of those who, from academia, professional practice, public management, and the private sector, have promoted economic growth and the well-being of Dominican society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of the ceremony, held in the auditorium of the Octavo Antonio Cardenal Beras Rojas Library, the distinctions of Distinguished Economist, the highest category of recognition, were conferred upon a group of professionals with long and outstanding careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The honorees in this category were Julio Bernardo Vega, Jos\u00e9 Arnaldo Serulle Ramia, Carlos Rafael Despradel Roques, Fernando Manuel Pellerano Morilla, C\u00e9sar Apolinar Veloz de la Rosa, Francisco Ram\u00f3n Checo, Luis Eduardo Tonos, H\u00e9ctor Giuliani Cury, and Jos\u00e9 Enrique Santos Taveras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, the mayor of the National District, Rosa Carolina Mej\u00eda, together with her economist colleagues Yv\u00e1n Leonidas Rodr\u00edguez Batista, Rosa Mar\u00eda S\u00e1nchez Betancourt, Jacqueline Mora B\u00e1ez, Luis Ortega Rinc\u00f3n and Fernando \u00c1lvarez Bogaert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the Minister of Finance and Economy, Mag\u00edn D\u00edaz, received special recognition for his contributions to the country in the economic and social spheres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, economists Haivanjoe Ng Corti\u00f1as and Tito Olivo, along with journalist Alex Jim\u00e9nez, were honored for their contribution to the communication and dissemination of economic topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony also included recognition for outstanding professionals in the categories of Teaching Career, Young Excellence in Economics, Research and Scientific Production, Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship, International Projection of the Dominican Economist, and Contribution to National Economic Thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
