SANTO DOMINGO<\/strong>.- In an event filled with emotion, enthusiasm, and pride, the National Institute of Physical Education celebrated this Friday the \u201cProfessor Virgilio Travieso Soto Excellence Gala,\u201d a ceremony in which 41 personalities dedicated to transforming lives through physical education and school sports were recognized and honored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multiple tribute, held at the ECI-INFOTEP Institutional Corporate Building, was led by the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodr\u00edguez Mella, who with great pride and enthusiasm presented the awards to veteran and young teachers who served in various areas of physical education and sports in the country’s educational centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rodr\u00edguez Mella awarded the categories of \u201centrepreneurship\u201d, \u201cconsistency, perseverance and dedication\u201d, \u201clifelong teacher\u201d and a special mention received by professor Franklin Rancier, a former athlete and sports leader, who made great contributions to the development of sports in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this event, we recognize the exceptional work of the teachers who, throughout their careers, have dedicated part of their lives to the education and integral development of students,\u201d highlighted Rodr\u00edguez Mella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incumbent of INEFI highlighted his commitment to the pursuit of excellence, a factor upon which a better future for students and society as a whole is built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince our arrival at INEFI, we have been supporting the training and development efforts promoted by the institution’s teaching department, and we have committed to continuing to support those activities that drive the individual development of our teachers and the institution collectively,\u201d revealed Rodr\u00edguez Mella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the Virgilio Travieso Soto Basketball Foundation, its president, Josel\u00edn Rodr\u00edguez, expressed his gratitude to the National Institute of Physical Education, in the person of its executive director, Alberto Rodr\u00edguez Mella, for honoring the memory of the Dominican Sports Immortal by bestowing his name upon this award ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe recognition by INEFI of these 41 physical education teachers, many of whom have dedicated their lives to promoting sports in the schools where they have worked, has been commendable and remarkable,\u201d stated Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Recognized<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the section for lifetime teachers, 19 professors were recognized, among them, Rolando Miranda, Faisal Abel Hasb\u00fan, Fernando Teruel, Frank Kranwinkel, Saturnino Mart\u00ednez, Franklin Duval, Daniel \u00c1ngel Lara, Nelson Acevedo, Am\u00e9rico Patnella Ceballo, Ram\u00f3n Aybar, and Miguel Rold\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also Arturo Morales, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Paniagua, Nelson Ram\u00edrez, Milagros Espinal, Reynaldo Mart\u00ednez., Dante Toribio, Luciano \u00c1lvarez and Manolo de la Mota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that same vein, but posthumously, C\u00e9sar Padr\u00f3n de los Santos (Papanini), H\u00e9ctor Enrique Marchena P\u00e9rez, Vicente Andr\u00e9s Paniagua, and Rafael (Papo) Germes Puentes were honored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In \u201cconsistency, perseverance and dedication,\u201d 11 veteran teachers took home the honors, among whom are Matilde Guerrero, Pascacio Mendoza, Jos\u00e9 Armando Zayas De la Rosa, Manuel Morel, Radham\u00e9s Paulino, Jos\u00e9 Antonio P\u00e9rez Mej\u00eda, Jacobo Moquete, Tony Mesa, Richard Mart\u00ednez, Justo Rafael Cruz Liranzo and Domingo Rosario. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In entrepreneurship, six teachers were awarded: Mois\u00e9s Mart\u00ednez, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Brito Paula, Geoffrey Luis Ventura D\u00edaz, Jeiser Adri\u00e1n Santana, Mariel Olivo Jim\u00e9nez de Narv\u00e1ez, and Dabel Emilio Reyes Adames.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
