The appointment of Virnaliz Jim\u00e9nez Cruz<\/strong> as a research scientist<\/strong> at the Family Resiliency Center<\/strong> of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign<\/strong> marks the beginning of a new stage in her professional life. Her arrival at this position is the result of an academic journey that led her, in December 2025<\/strong>, to obtain her PhD in Human Development and Family Studies<\/strong> at that same university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Her interest in family dynamics<\/strong> and resilience<\/strong> led her to study Psychology<\/strong> at the University of North Carolina<\/strong>. Later, in Illinois, she completed her master’s degree<\/strong> and doctorate<\/strong>, while teaching classes, leading research teams, and publishing studies on family resilience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virnaliz Jim\u00e9nez Cruz obtained her PhD in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in December 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university environment in which she is integrated has 15 faculties<\/strong> and more than 20 research institutes<\/strong>, a framework where Virnaliz’s work will focus on the application of quantitative and qualitative methods<\/strong>, collaboration with institutions and community partners, and the preparation of manuscripts and technical reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
