SkyFall<\/strong>, the Ukrainian defense technology company, has developed a long-range strike weapon<\/strong> that is being tested in operations against Russia<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, as Kyiv intensifies its campaign, which has caused serious logistical problems for Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The fixed-wing, propeller-driven munition has a wingspan of approximately 3.5 meters (11 feet) and a range of at least 600 kilometers<\/strong>, the company announced on Monday at the Farnborough International Airshow<\/strong>. It will be fully operational within months, the company added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyFall is also in the final testing phase of a new, faster version of its P-1 Sun<\/strong> drone, designed to intercept rudimentary jet-powered Shahed-type cruise missiles, which Russia has used in attacks against Ukraine in a game of strategy and countermeasures. The company’s goal for the new P-1 is to achieve full autonomy<\/strong>, with an operator only needing to select the target on a monitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>With a top speed of 370 kilometers per hour<\/strong> (230 mph), the \u201cJetkiller\u201d<\/strong> model can catch up to the fastest Russian weapons when they slow down near the final phase of their attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The X-wing<\/strong> model interceptor reaches higher speeds thanks to a slightly smaller warhead than the standard P-1 (500 grams versus 800 grams) and improved engines and other components, according to a company representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The enhanced AI<\/strong> takes final control<\/strong> of the interceptor once the human pilot designates a target, Konovalov explained. It is designed to work with almost any satellite communications system, including SpaceX’s Starlink<\/strong>, allowing the operator to be in a remote location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Low-cost interceptors for cheap weapons like the Shahed have become a priority for many countries, given that thousands of these munitions have been used in the Iran<\/strong> war.
