:Dominican Republic announces weightlifting team for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe executive director of Alodom, Jos\u00e9 Luis Bautista<\/strong>, highlighted that over the last 18 months the institution received and hosted hundreds of athletes from different disciplines, offering them all the necessary facilities for their preparation ahead of the region’s main sporting event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n“We are fulfilling our commitment to our athletes who will represent us at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, and we expect from them the long-awaited gold, silver, and bronze medals<\/strong>,” expressed Bautista.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe official explained that, between February 2025 and July 2026, the Olympic Hostel housed a monthly average of 320 athletes<\/strong>, both male and female, belonging to about 15 disciplines, including judo, boxing, taekwondo, triathlon, modern pentathlon, fencing, Olympic wrestling, softball, basketball, handball, and swimming.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBautista highlighted that the athletes received a balanced, high-quality diet, as well as lodging with air-conditioned rooms, comfortable beds, and specialized services to ensure proper physical recovery during their training process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likewise, he pointed out that the work carried out responded to the guidelines of the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz<\/strong>, who prioritized offering athletes the best possible conditions before their participation in the regional event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n“The Ministry of Sports executed one hundred percent of the commitment made to Dominican athletes and also to delegations from other countries that carried out their preparation in our facilities<\/strong>,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe director of Alodom also valued the support of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD)<\/strong>, presided over by Garibaldi Bautista<\/strong>, as well as the permanent coordination with the various national sports federations.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026<\/strong>, which celebrate the centenary of the first edition held in Mexico in 1926, will bring together more than 6,000 athletes<\/strong> from 37 countries and territories<\/strong>, who will compete in 40 sports<\/strong>, more than 50 disciplines<\/strong> and nearly 500 medal events<\/strong>, from July 24 to August 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
