Puerto Plata.\u2013<\/strong> The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) reported that this Saturday<\/a>, July 25, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., it will carry out the fourth and final stage of the reconductoring work on the 69 kV Puerto Plata I \u2013 Puerto Plata II transmission line, which will conclude a strategic intervention to strengthen the province’s electrical infrastructure and increase energy transport capacity in the northern part of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing three consecutive days<\/strong> of work, the project has reached 80% progress. With this final stage, the 3.5 kilometers of the transmission line will be rehabilitated, incorporating higher capacity conductors<\/strong> that will allow for the transport of more energy<\/strong>, improve the reliability<\/strong> of the system, and respond more efficiently to the growth in electricity demand in Puerto Plata.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this comprehensive day of strengthening transmission infrastructure, ETED will also carry out major maintenance<\/strong> on the busbar at the 69 kV Puerto Plata substation and will open the 69 kV Playa Dorada \u2013 Puerto Plata transmission line to facilitate these works. These interventions will allow for the reinforcement of the operational security<\/strong> of the system and will contribute to a more robust and reliable transmission network for the province.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the execution of these works, it will be necessary to interrupt electrical service in the communities of Puerto Plata, Cristo Rey, Padre Las Casas, Montemar urbanization, Los Mameyes, Ensanche Dubeaux, Florida urbanization, Arco\u00edris urbanization, and Gregorio Luper\u00f3n urbanization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, due to major bus maintenance at the 69 kV Puerto Plata substation, it will be necessary to interrupt electrical service in the province of Puerto Plata<\/strong>, partially in the Don Pedro<\/strong> community, belonging to the Santiago<\/strong> province, in Sabaneta de Y\u00e1sica<\/strong>, belonging to the Puerto Plata province, as well as at the company Puerto Plata Distribuci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, due to the opening of the 69 kV Playa Dorada \u2013 Puerto Plata transmission line, electrical service will be affected in the communities of La Colonia, Barrio La Paz, Costa Azul, Punta Goleta, Las Espinas, and Roc\u00f3n. Temporarily, the communities of La Hoya, Palo Colorado, La Vereda, El Mango, Blanco Arriba, Jobo Arriba, La Cigua, and Arroyo Blanco, located in the province of Puerto Plata, will also be impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The culmination of this project represents an important step forward<\/strong> in strengthening the transmission network in the northern zone, by providing infrastructure with greater capacity, prepared to support the energy, tourism, commercial, and economic growth of Puerto Plata,<\/strong> contributing to offering a safer, more stable, and efficient electrical service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
