Court of Appeals postponed until <strong>August 6th, at 11:00 a.m.<\/strong>, the hearing of the appeal filed against the dismissal order that favored <a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"674892\">Jean Andr\u00e9 Pumarol, <\/a>accused of the death of Yolanda Handal Abugabir and the injuries caused to several people during an attack that occurred in a condominium in the Naco district, in July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the appeal, the parties seek for the court to revoke the decision issued by the Seventh Instruction Court of the National District, which ruled that the accused would not be sent to a full trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the next hearing, the Court judges must determine whether to uphold or overturn the resolution issued by magistrate Deivy Timoteo Peguero, who concluded that the defendant was acting under a psychotic episode at the time the events occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision adopted by the investigating judge generated questions and led to the filing of an appeal, which seeks for the case file to continue its course in the trial jurisdiction, where the evidence can be debated and the criminal responsibility of the accused can be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We recommend reading: <a class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the hearing scheduled for August 6, the parties will present their legal arguments before the court, which will evaluate the grounds of the appeal before issuing a decision on the future of the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case dates back to July 2025, when a violent attack recorded in a residential building in the Naco expansion resulted in the death of Yolanda Handal Abugabir and several people injured, an event that caused great shock in Dominican society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resolution issued by the Court of Appeal will be decisive in determining whether the dismissal order stands or if Jean Andr\u00e9 Pumarol must face a full trial for the acts attributed to
