Monegro, highlighted the support received from presidents Luis Abinader and Danilo Medina to make the celebration of this important sporting event in the Dominican Republic possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Monegro explained that the bid presented during Medina&#8217;s administration allowed the country to obtain the host status for the Games, while the support provided by President Abinader&#8217;s government has been decisive for the organization and development of the sporting event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, he valued the support offered by former presidents Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez and Hip\u00f3lito Mej\u00eda, considering that sport has managed to bring together different political sectors in favor of a common goal for the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>XXV Central American and Caribbean Games<\/strong> are held from <strong>July 24 to August 8, 2026<\/strong> with the participation of athletes from <strong>37 countries<\/strong>, in an edition that coincides with the centenary of the creation of this competition, considered the oldest on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We recommend reading:<a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/deportes\/delegacion-dominicana-desfila-con-entusiasmo-en-la-inauguracion-de-santo-domingo-2026\/\">Dominican delegation parades with enthusiasm at the opening of Santo Domingo 2026<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dominican Republic hosts this regional competition for the third time, after organizing the <strong>1974<\/strong> and <strong>1986<\/strong> editions, both in Santo Domingo.
