Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet)<\/a> reported that this Saturday a hot environment will prevail in much of the national territory, with a slightly grayish sky due to the presence of Saharan dust particles and the possibility of isolated downpours in several provinces during the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although only very isolated showers are expected over some coastal areas during the morning hours, weather conditions will change in the afternoon due to the influence of a weak tropical wave south of the country, the east wind, and the slight impact of a trough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indomet explained that these conditions will favor isolated downpours, possible thunderstorms, and wind gusts in La Altagracia, El Seibo, S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez, Monte Plata, San Juan, and El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a<\/strong>, where rainfall could extend into the early hours of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Greater Santo Domingo, skies with scattered clouds, a hot environment, and a light layer of Saharan dust are expected for much of the day, with no significant rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of the high temperatures, the agency urged the population to drink enough water, wear light-colored, lightweight clothing, stay in cool places, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun without proper protection, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he\/she reminded that children, the elderly, and pregnant women are the groups most vulnerable to the effects of heat, so he\/she recommended paying special attention to these individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
