Washington.- <\/strong>The United States government asserted this Saturday that it is maintaining the naval blockade against Iran, despite the temporary pause in airstrikes ordered by President Donald Trump to allow room for diplomatic efforts, while also stating that it had diverted a dozen commercial vessels that, according to Washington, were attempting to head to Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) <\/a>noted -in a post on its X social media account- that the maritime blockade “remains in full effect” and assured that, as of this July 25, its forces have diverted twelve commercial vessels that, according to the military command, were attempting to violate the restrictions imposed by Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the agency claimed to have disabled two other vessels that, according to its version, disobeyed orders issued by U.S. forces, in addition to boarding two vessels to verify compliance with the blockade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to CENTCOM, this Saturday U.S. forces conducted an inspection aboard the Comoros-flagged oil tanker M\/T Charminar in the Arabian Sea. The military command indicated that, following the verification, the vessel resumed its voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A night without attacks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

He also asserted that on the eve he disabled the Mozambican-flagged oil tanker M\/T Lavine in the Gulf of Oman, after, as he maintained, the crew attempted on several occasions to breach the blockade and ignored repeated warnings. According to the same source, the vessel is no longer continuing its transit to Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement coincides with reports published this Saturday by U.S. and Israeli media indicating that Trump ordered on Friday a suspension of new bombings against Iran<\/a>, interrupting nearly two consecutive weeks of attacks to facilitate a possible diplomatic solution to the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its part, an Israeli official stated to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) that the country’s government expected a “powerful bombardment from the United States” on Friday night, but that Trump decided to postpone it to give Iran “another chance to return to the negotiating table.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It seems our dear Iran had a quiet night last night, and no part of its body was hit or struck,” the official wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New talks between the U.S. and Iran<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The reports coincided with a message from the Iranian Ministry of Health spokesperson, Hossein Kermanpour, who stated -on the social network X- that no attacks against Iranian territory were recorded during the last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump further stated on Friday that U.S. emissaries are holding talks with Iranian representatives, in a sign that Washington is once again exploring a diplomatic exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As another sign of de-escalation in the region, Qatar announced this Saturday that it will resume all maritime navigation<\/a> for civilian vessels starting Sunday, which had been suspended for more than ten days due to the escalation of the conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
