Carlos Beltr\u00e1n became the sixth Puerto Rican-born player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The former outfielder arrived in Cooperstown accompanied by a large delegation of family and friends from the island, including his parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beltr\u00e1n was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the second round of the 1995 Draft and made his Major League debut in 1998. A year later, he won the American League Rookie of the Year award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His career was marked by great postseason performances, especially during his time with the Houston Astros in 2004. In that campaign, he batted .435, with an on-base percentage of .536 and a slugging percentage of 1.022, in addition to hitting eight home runs in 12 playoff games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout his career, he also wore the uniforms of the New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros. Finally, he was elected to the Hall of Fame after receiving the support of 84.2% of the voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andruw Jones makes history for Cura\u00e7ao<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Andruw Jones became the first player born in Cura\u00e7ao to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The former Atlanta Braves outfielder had an extraordinary defensive career and left an indelible mark from his early years in professional baseball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jones debuted in the World Series at age 19 and hit home runs in his first two at-bats, a historic feat. Furthermore, he remains the only teenager to have hit a home run in a World Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His selection came on his ninth and penultimate opportunity on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America ballot. Jones received 78.4% of the vote and now his plaque in Cooperstown will feature the Atlanta Braves logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeff Kent, a career of power from second base<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Jeff Kent completed the Hall of Fame Class of 2026 and became the first second baseman elected since Craig Biggio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kent reached the peak of his career with the San Francisco Giants, a team he joined before the 1997 season. There, he was part of a powerful lineup alongside Barry Bonds and J.T. Snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his career, Kent won the National League Most Valuable Player award in 2000, was a five-time All-Star selection, and hit 377 home runs, the most in history among players whose primary position was second base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His election came through the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee, which awarded him 14 of the 16 possible votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
