In an interview with CBS, DeWine defended the Haitian community, saying its members have played a key role in Springfield’s economic recovery. His office also told EFE that it had not received any notification of increased federal immigration enforcement following the expiration of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DeWine’s comments mark a rare public disagreement with Trump’s immigration agenda.
