Santo Domingo.\u2013<\/strong> Journalist Madelin Pe\u00f1a<\/a> stated that journalism and the media are going through a stage of transformation that forces professionals to adapt to new platforms, without losing the judgment and essence of the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During an interview conducted by journalist Ireny Javier, Pe\u00f1a maintained that communication professionals of the past narrated and contextualized events in a way that, in his view, has been lost over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, she expressed that she prefers to define herself as a journalist rather than a communicator, considering that the training, analysis, and judgment that characterize journalism are not provided by just any career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When referring to the current media landscape, Madelin Pe\u00f1a considered that Dominican television needs to reinvent itself, open spaces for new talent, and commit to higher quality communication. Although she acknowledged that there is a new way of communicating, she insisted on the importance of maintaining professional preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conversation, Pe\u00f1a recalled that she began her career as an intern on the program \u201cEl Control de la Salsa,\u201d alongside Chino M\u00e9ndez, and that she later worked as a master control operator, a role in which it was uncommon to see women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journalist confessed that radio is the medium she enjoys the most because, as she explained, it possesses a magic that television cannot offer and, in its beginnings, allowed for the listener’s imagination to develop more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The also acro-artist highlighted that she dedicated two years to the process of becoming a member of the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte), a stage that had the support of journalist Carlos T. Mart\u00ednez, who motivated her to join the guild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the Soberano Awards, he stated that he is passionate about them and defended their permanence, considering them the main artistic recognition in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
