Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 Five years after the passing of merengue artist Johnny Ventura, his widow, Josefina Flores de Ventura, stated this Monday that the artistic and family legacy of the so-called “Caballo Mayor” remains more alive than ever thanks to the unity of his family and the work carried out by his son, Jandy Ventura, to keep the artist’s career relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a mass held in memory of the merengue artist, Josefina expressed that Johnny Ventura remains present in the daily lives of his loved ones and highlighted that the greatest legacy he left behind was love and family unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJohnny set an example for his entire family so that his legacy may be maintained. Furthermore, Jandy is doing a very beautiful job and I know his dad must feel proud. In our family, the unity, love, and affection that he sowed always prevails,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist’s widow explained that the family keeps his memory alive with masses, visits to the cemetery, and gatherings on special dates such as his birthday, Merengue Day, Musician’s Day, and the anniversary of his passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he revealed that at the beginning of July all his children and grandchildren were able to meet to celebrate a mass in honor of the artist, although this year some of them could not attend the commemorative event because they were out of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When recalling the most personal side of the performer of Patac\u00f3n Pisao, Josefina described him as a man dedicated to guiding young people, passionate about his country, and deeply committed to his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJohnny was a person who always had advice to give. He loved talking with the youth, guiding them, and sharing his experiences. He was a fighter for his country and for his family,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnny Ventura passed away on July 28, 2021, at the age of 81, due to a heart attack while he was in Santiago de los Caballeros.
