San Crist\u00f3bal.\u2013<\/strong> The Second Chamber of the Criminal Court of San Crist\u00f3bal <\/a>left the appeal filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the decision that granted the benefit of semi-liberty to former ambassador Donni Santana<\/strong>, sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor, in a state of judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After hearing the arguments from the parties during the hearing held this Thursday, the court announced that it will release its decision on August 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this appeal, the Public Prosecutor’s Office seeks to have the measure that allowed Santana’s release from the Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center revoked and for his re-entry to be ordered to serve the remainder of the sentence that was imposed on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case has generated widespread public interest because the former official obtained the benefit of semi-freedom after serving nearly seven years in prison, despite the 20-year sentence handed down against him for sexual abuse of a minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
