Madrid.-<\/strong> The leader of the PP, Alberto N\u00fa\u00f1ez-Feij\u00f3o<\/a>, has demanded tonight a “massive deployment” of personnel to regain control of the Ceuta border with Morocco and for the Government to take the necessary measures to achieve it, starting by declaring this situation “of national security interest”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, Feij\u00f3o made this demand after stressing that “a few dozen agents of the Security Forces and Corps or the Army” cannot control tens of thousands of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ceuta is experiencing “an unprecedented avalanche” and the entire political class of the autonomous city is demanding extraordinary mechanisms, as emphasized by the leader of the PP, who also pointed out that the Government “cannot turn a deaf ear,” as it concerns the “national security” of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also warned that, as noted, the arrival of immigrants from Morocco could exceed 40,000 people, “half the population of the autonomous city,” a figure “impossible to manage” without those extraordinary mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why he has insisted that “we must regain effective control of the border, guarantee the return of those who have entered illegally, and preserve security and coexistence in hours that will be decisive.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Feij\u00f3o, Spain has the means to do so but “what is lacking is not capacity but will,” and for that reason, he has warned that a “late and insufficient reaction by the Government will only continue to fuel the idea that Spain is a country that one can enter in any way.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is essential that the people of Ceuta know that the rest of Spain is with them, and that requires a much firmer and more forceful presence and response than what we are seeing,” added Feij\u00f3o.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, he regretted that “irresponsible decisions such as the immigration policy” lead to crises “of this magnitude” or that in situations like this there is only a “dismantled State” that does not make the appropriate decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
