Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 The woman who was wounded by gunfire during an incident that occurred at an establishment in Plaza Castilla, located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue at the corner of Paseo de los Locutores, in the Naco district, passed away this Friday while receiving medical attention, the National Police reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim was identified as Yhatnna Gelisa Cordero Bello<\/strong>,<\/a> 37, who did not survive the gunshot wound she sustained during the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the preliminary report, the assailant, whose identity has not yet been established, entered the establishment asking for a man who was at the location and whose name has been withheld for security reasons. In the midst of the situation, Cordero Bello reportedly panicked and was struck by a gunshot before the attacker escaped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigations indicate that the man who was accompanying the victim is the owner of a cell phone sales business that operates in the same shopping center and maintained a friendship with the deceased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminarily, investigators are working on the hypothesis that the perpetrator may have gone to the scene with the intention of intimidating the merchant, who was scheduled to appear this Friday at a trial related to a judicial process in which he is listed as a victim of an assault that occurred in June of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Police reported that it continues to collect evidence, including recordings from the establishment’s surveillance cameras and those in the surrounding area, to identify and locate the person responsible, who fled on foot after committing the act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
