A 4.7 magnitude earthquake<\/strong> in the province of Naples (Italy), the strongest recorded<\/a> in this region in the last 40 years, left at least 8 people with minor injuries<\/strong>, numerous damages, and interruptions to energy and mobility services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Italian Civil Protection agency, the tremor occurred six kilometers from Naples<\/strong>, in the Phlegraean Fields area at 7:46 PM in the town of Pozzuoli and was clearly felt in the city of Naples<\/strong> as well as in municipalities in the province, where people ran out into the streets in terror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Italian media, the tremor has caused the collapse of a building’s facade in Pozzuoli and several collapses of cornices and plaster between that town and Bagnoli<\/strong>, which have not affected the residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power outages and mobility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apart from landslides and damage to some infrastructure, power outages<\/strong> were also reported from Pizzofalcone to Fuorigrotta, and firefighters are receiving dozens of calls for elevators stuck in buildings or collapses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Municipality of Pozzuoli has activated the Municipal Operations Center (COC)<\/strong> to coordinate all surveillance and assistance activities for the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
