Barahona.<\/strong> A foreign citizen passed away on Thursday morning after being involved in an incident<\/a> that occurred during a series of raids carried out by National Police agents and representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in several municipalities of the Barahona province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operations were carried out simultaneously in the municipalities of La Ci\u00e9naga, Para\u00edso, and Enriquillo, as part of actions aimed at combating criminal acts in the area. During the interventions, the authorities arrested seven people and seized an M-16 rifle, several firearms, ammunition, and other evidence that will be incorporated into the investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the death of the foreign citizen was not mentioned in the official statement issued by the Southern Regional Directorate of the National Police, even though the incident occurred in one of the homes raided in the municipality of Para\u00edso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to information obtained by this media outlet from sources linked to the investigation, the man had been involved in an argument with acting officers and a representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office moments before being transferred to a health center, where his death was subsequently confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the authorities have not revealed the identity or nationality of the deceased, nor have they offered details regarding the circumstances that led to their death or whether the case will be subject to an independent investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
