Dajab\u00f3n. \u2013<\/strong> During surveillance and migration interdiction operations, units of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD<\/a>)<\/strong> detained 47 Haitian nationals<\/strong> in an irregular migratory status at different points in the Dajab\u00f3n and Santiago Rodr\u00edguez provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one of the interventions, soldiers assigned to the Masacre post, with the support of the drone unit, detained 16 Haitian nationals, consisting of 14 men and 2 women, during patrol operations carried out in their area of responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, members of the 10th Infantry Battalion, using drone units, intercepted another 14 undocumented Haitian nationals in the Los Ca\u00f1averales sector of Los Miches, Dajab\u00f3n province. The group consisted of 13 men and one woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, in the Santiago Rodr\u00edguez province, soldiers from the La Leonor detachment detained 17 Haitian migrants, consisting of 15 men, one woman, and one minor, in the Coqu\u00ed community, a section of the same name, as they were entering Dominican territory irregularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The detained foreigners were transferred to the corresponding military headquarters and subsequently handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) <\/strong>for the repatriation process established by current legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican Republic Army reported in this regard that it maintains permanent surveillance, patrolling, and interdiction operations along the border line and other areas under its responsibility, with the purpose of preventing the irregular entry of foreigners<\/strong>, combating networks dedicated to the illicit trafficking of migrants, and strengthening national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
