Ceuta (Spain).- Hundreds of migrants<\/strong> continue to return this Saturday to Morocco from the Spanish city of Ceuta, <\/strong>which borders Morocco, following the announced agreement between both countries for their immediate repatriation and the lack of supplies to cover their basic needs, according to police sources and as verified by EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about 50,000 migrants from Morocco<\/strong> entered Ceuta, a city located in North Africa, irregularly since last Thursday, according to estimates by the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, around 40,000 of those people have chosen to return voluntarily<\/strong> after days of being unable to meet any basic needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faced with the migration crisis, all businesses and bars in Ceuta closed, and the migrants had nowhere to sleep either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the Army and the Police of the Spanish autonomous city are carrying out different raids in areas of the town, where there is evidence of the presence of small illegal migrant settlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The military, for their part, are indicating to them that it is necessary for them to go to the border<\/strong> and are making them see that their situation will not be regularized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They ask Pedro S\u00e1nchez’s Government for a “firm” response<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For his part, the president of Ceuta, the conservative Juan Jes\u00fas Vivas<\/strong>, warned today that the city “has not recovered” normality because there are still “thousands of people” on the streets, which is why he maintained that the crisis “remains open”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivas urged Pedro S\u00e1nchez’s Government to have a “firm, forceful and immediate” response and to use all legal and operational instruments available to the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ceuta and Melilla are the only land borders of the European Union on the African continent and that uniqueness must be effectively reflected in the regulations and the resources they have, so we must lay the foundations so that this does not happen again,” he stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As of this Saturday, at least 67 of these migrants have died<\/strong> and their bodies have been recovered on the Ceuta coast, according to data provided to EFE by the authorities in that locality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Civil Guard maintains a constant search to locate more bodies in the area near the Tarajal border breakwater, on the border of Ceuta with Morocco, where they swam across.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
