A 36-year-old Dominican man was found dead with multiple stab wounds inside his apartment at a luxury residential building in Long Island City, Queens, in a case that has New York City police searching for possible suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim was identified as Carlos Penzo<\/strong>, a Queens resident whose body was discovered Saturday afternoon inside an apartment at The Hayden<\/strong> building on Hunter Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police found Penzo sitting upright inside the bathtub with multiple stab wounds to his head, face, and chest. Officers also recovered a knife and a Taser on his lap, while two other knives were found elsewhere in the apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The discovery came after officers responded to the building following a rooftop fire alarm. Security personnel found a naked man using a fire extinguisher to spray surveillance cameras and later attempting to force his way into an apartment, according to police sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The man was taken into custody, and while checking the apartment he allegedly tried to enter, officers found Penzo\u2019s body. The Dominican man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The individual remains in custody and is considered a person of interest in the investigation.
