A 20-year-old man died and four teenagers were shot<\/strong> in a shooting<\/strong> that shook<\/a> the city of Yonkers<\/strong>, in Westchester<\/strong> County, New York<\/strong>, on Sunday night.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 15-year-old minor<\/strong> was arrested at the scene<\/strong> minutes after the attack. Authorities described the incident as a targeted act<\/strong> and ruled out any threat to the general community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Yonkers Police Department<\/strong> (YPD<\/strong>) received the emergency call around 8:43 p.m. on Sunday<\/strong>. Upon arriving at the intersection of Elm Street<\/em> and Palisade Avenue<\/em>, officers found five people with gunshot wounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The most serious of the cases was that of a 20-year-old man, who had a gunshot wound to the back and was declared dead at the scene<\/strong>. The four survivors\u2014aged 14, 15, 15, and 16<\/strong>\u2014were taken to the hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition<\/strong>, as stated by the YPD in its official press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A suspect arrested at the scene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While emergency teams attended to the victims, officers took a 15-year-old teenager into custody at the scene of the shooting.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The YPD did not immediately specify if the minor will face formal charges<\/strong>, but confirmed that investigators recovered a loaded firearm and ballistic evidence<\/strong> in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrest took place without the need for an additional operation, which suggests that the suspect did not attempt to flee<\/strong> after the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The uniformed officers cordoned off two distinct areas with security tape during the night. One extended in the vicinity of the Ultimate Gas Station<\/em>, located at the corner of New School Street<\/em> and Elm Street. The other was established further up on Palisade Avenue<\/em>. The age range of the injured is striking: three of the four survivors are under 16 years old, and the youngest is just 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC New York<\/em> specified that it remains unclear if the five victims were the targets of the attack<\/strong>, even though the Yonkers police described the event as a targeted episode. CBS New York<\/em> reported that the four teenagers remain hospitalized in critical but stable condition<\/strong>, with a favorable<\/strong> prognosis for survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABC7<\/em> reported that investigators also recovered additional ballistic evidence<\/strong> at the scene, which expands the forensic work beyond the weapon confiscated from the detained suspect. The magnitude of the evidence collected suggests that the crime scene covered a considerable area of the intersection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
