{"id":519448,"date":"2026-08-03T22:09:29","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T02:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/carlos-de-los-santos-romano-leads-record-breaking-vote-for-the-codia-chemical-engineers-nucleus\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T22:09:29","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T02:09:29","slug":"carlos-de-los-santos-romano-leads-record-breaking-vote-for-the-codia-chemical-engineers-nucleus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/carlos-de-los-santos-romano-leads-record-breaking-vote-for-the-codia-chemical-engineers-nucleus\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos de los Santos Romano leads record-breaking vote for the CODIA Chemical Engineers Nucleus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo.<\/strong>\u2013 Engineer <strong>Carlos Manuel de los Santos Romano<\/strong> was the most voted candidate in the elections for the <strong>Chemical Engineers Chapter<\/strong> of the <strong>Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA)<\/strong> for the <strong>2026-2027<\/strong> term, obtaining <strong>166 votes<\/strong>, the highest figure in the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <strong>Preliminary Bulletin No. 03<\/strong> of the CODIA National Electoral Commission, <strong>286 votes<\/strong> were cast in the election, of which <strong>285 were valid<\/strong> and <strong>one was null<\/strong>, setting a record for participation and voting for this professional chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The election day was held nationwide with representation in <strong>eight regional offices<\/strong> and <strong>23 delegations<\/strong>, coordinated from the CODIA Central, and featured the participation of <strong>two slates<\/strong> composed of <strong>10 candidates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We recommend reading:<a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/nacionales\/victor-torres-gana-fuerza-como\/\">V\u00edctor Torres gains momentum as a candidate to preside over CODIA in Santo Domingo<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Management priorities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After learning the results, De los Santos Romano thanked the support received and stated that the high turnout demonstrates the interest of chemical engineers in strengthening their representation within the guild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the main goals of his administration are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote <strong>continuing education<\/strong> programs, refresher courses, and specialized training aimed at the needs of the industrial sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct a <strong>national census of chemical engineers<\/strong> to identify where they work, their specialties, and create a database that facilitates connections with companies and industries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote agreements between universities and the business sector to facilitate <strong>internships<\/strong> and improve access to <strong>first employment<\/strong> for future professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage the <strong>professional registration<\/strong> of chemical engineers who are not yet part of CODIA. Currently, the institution registers <strong>768 professionals<\/strong> in this field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our main objective is to develop the educational side of our colleagues,&#8221; he expressed during an interview granted to this media outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Professional career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carlos Manuel de los Santos Romano is a graduate of <strong>Chemical Engineering<\/strong> from the <strong>Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD)<\/strong>, class of <strong>October 28, 1984<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He began his career at <strong>Barcel\u00f3 y Compa\u00f1\u00eda, C. por A.<\/strong>, where he participated in the areas of production, bottling, aging, and alcohol distillation for nearly eight years. As part of his training, he received technical instruction in <strong>Spain<\/strong> and specialized training at the <strong>Bacard\u00ed<\/strong> facilities in <strong>Puerto Rico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His experience also spans the automotive sector, where he was elected on three occasions as <strong>vice president of the National Association of New and Used Vehicle Distribution Agencies (ANADIVE)<\/strong>.
