A 24-year-old football player died after being struck by lightning during a match in southern Thailand on Tuesday, in an incident that also left 12 other players injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim was identified as Safwan Awae<\/strong>, a player for Yala FC<\/strong>, who was competing in the Golok FA Cup<\/strong> in Su-ngai Kolok<\/strong>, Narathiwat Province, when lightning struck the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emergency responders rushed to the scene and provided medical assistance, but Awae was pronounced dead. Twelve other players sustained injuries in the lightning strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Videos circulating on social media appear to show the moment the lightning bolt hit the field, causing panic among players and spectators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities have not released additional details about the condition of the injured players.
