{"id":519860,"date":"2026-08-06T09:26:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/roberto-alvarez-highlights-business-opportunities-between-dr-and-mexico\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T09:26:23","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:26:23","slug":"roberto-alvarez-highlights-business-opportunities-between-dr-and-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/roberto-alvarez-highlights-business-opportunities-between-dr-and-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"Roberto \u00c1lvarez highlights business opportunities between DR and Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo.-<\/strong> The Minister of Foreign Affairs, <strong>Roberto \u00c1lvarez<\/strong>, stated that the transformation of the international <strong>geoeconomic landscape<\/strong>, <strong>Mexican industrial capacity<\/strong>, and the logistical platform and <strong>Dominican manufacturing capacity<\/strong> represent a <strong>strategic opportunity<\/strong> to reach a new stage of development in <strong>trade and investment relations between the Dominican Republic and Mexico.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While participating as a <strong>guest speaker<\/strong> at a luncheon organized by the Dominican-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Investment <strong>(Cadomex)<\/strong>, the Foreign Minister maintained that <strong>Mexico<\/strong> possesses a <strong>solid industrial base<\/strong> and an <strong>extensive network of suppliers<\/strong>, while the <strong>Dominican Republic<\/strong> has developed <strong>dynamic manufacturing sectors<\/strong>, has a <strong>strategic location<\/strong>, <strong>preferential access to important markets<\/strong>, <strong>macroeconomic stability, legal certainty, and institutional strengthening.<\/strong> These attributes represent the greatest potential for the evolution of Dominican-Mexican relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe incorporation of inputs, components, and industrial processes from Mexico can further strengthen the competitiveness of both countries and expand their possibilities of jointly serving third markets,\u201d<\/em> he indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, he considered that the <strong>high degree of trust, understanding, and maturity<\/strong> that characterizes the relations between the Dominican Republic and Mexico creates favorable conditions to expand cooperation into <strong>new areas of strategic interest<\/strong> and jointly address <strong>common regional challenges<\/strong>, such as the impact of <strong>sargassum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recommend<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c1lvarez also highlighted that Mexico is <strong>one of the largest foreign investors in the country<\/strong>, with accumulated investments exceeding <strong>USD 3 billion<\/strong>, through companies such as Claro Dominicana, Bepensa, Sigma Alimentos, and The Palace Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also highlighted <strong>the role of the business sector<\/strong> in consolidating relations between both countries, noting that it is companies that develop suppliers, incorporate innovation, and create the economic ties that institutions subsequently consolidate. In that sense, he urged business leaders to play a decisive role in the next stage of the economic relationship between the Dominican Republic and Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activity was led by the president of Cadomex, <strong>Jes\u00fas Cornejo<\/strong>, who highlighted the <strong>ample opportunities<\/strong> to deepen cooperation between the Dominican Republic and Mexico in areas such as <strong>trade, education, culture, and tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;There are great opportunities to position the Dominican Republic, with the support of Mexico, within global value and supply chains, especially in products and services exported to the United States,&#8221;<\/em> he stated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, Foreign Minister Roberto \u00c1lvarez <strong>answered questions from business leaders and representatives of the private sector<\/strong> regarding the outlook for bilateral trade, the investment climate, business opportunities, and the Dominican government&#8217;s strategy to strengthen the international integration of the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c1lvarez was accompanied by Vice Ministers <strong>Francisco Caraballo, Hugo F. Rivera, and Opinio D\u00edaz<\/strong>, as well as directors and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
