Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey<\/strong> defended Haitian immigrants with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) while criticizing President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration policies during an interview on Morning Joe<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe have about 45,000 Haitian TPS holders<\/strong> in my state. You know where a lot of them are working? In our hospitals and nursing homes. They are probably the caregiver taking care of your parents in their home right now,\u201d Healey said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Democratic governor made the remarks while discussing the Protect Act<\/strong>, a new law she signed that her office says strengthens protections for immigrants in Massachusetts.
