Santo Domingo<\/strong>. \u2013 The executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Julio Landr\u00f3n, projects that, by the end of next year or within a maximum period of two years, 150 hospitals in the Public Health Network will have advanced toward a model of greater administrative and financial autonomy, as part of the strategy for the modernization and strengthening of hospital management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this goal, the SNS, in coordination with the General Directorate of Government Accounting (Digecog), launched a pilot plan for administrative and financial decentralization that will allow hospitals with managerial and financial capacity to manage their processes with greater autonomy, under the supervision and technical support of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting with hospital directors, administrators, and accountants, the executive director of the SNS presented the scope of the project and explained that the implementation of the Public Accounting System will guarantee standardized financial processes, greater transparency, and reliable financial statements, in accordance with Law 126-01 on Governmental Accounting and its Application Regulation No. 526-09.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There are health centers that cannot wait and need to move forward in this process. We are identifying, together with sector authorities and technical teams, those hospitals that have the necessary financial and administrative maturity to decentralize,” stated Landr\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The head of the SNS highlighted that decentralization will allow for the streamlining of administrative and financial processes in hospitals, strengthen the response capacity of health centers, and optimize the management of public resources, always under the stewardship and supervision of the SNS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, Wandy Hierro N\u00fa\u00f1ez, Director of Accounting Procedures and Financial Statements at Digecog, valued the decision to resume this process and assured that its success will depend on institutional commitment and the rigorous application of accounting and transparency<\/a> standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilot plan will be executed during the 2026-2027 period and will include 22 hospitals and the Ozama Regional Health Service, marking the beginning of a transformation aimed at strengthening autonomy, efficiency, and transparency in the Public Health Network.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
