{"id":520246,"date":"2026-08-08T09:10:01","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T13:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/the-revolutionary-guard-says-it-will-reopen-hormuz-when-the-u-s-accepts-irans-conditions\/"},"modified":"2026-08-08T09:10:01","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T13:10:01","slug":"the-revolutionary-guard-says-it-will-reopen-hormuz-when-the-u-s-accepts-irans-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.com\/en\/uncategorized\/the-revolutionary-guard-says-it-will-reopen-hormuz-when-the-u-s-accepts-irans-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"The Revolutionary Guard says it will reopen Hormuz when the U.S. accepts Iran&#8217;s conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tehran.- <\/strong>The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated this Saturday that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will depend on the United States fully accepting <a href=\"https:\/\/efe.com\/noticias\/guerra-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tehran<\/a>&#8216;s conditions and ceasing to interfere in the regional negotiation process, in reference to the talks between Iran and Oman regarding navigation in the strategic maritime passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on the United States fully accepting Iran&#8217;s conditions and ceasing to interfere in the regional negotiation process,\u201d declared the Revolutionary Guard spokesperson, General Hosein Mohebi, to the Tasnim agency during a visit to the southern province of Hormozgan, in the vicinity of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military spokesperson, who did not detail which conditions he is referring to, said that the decision regarding the reopening of the strategic maritime passage responds exclusively to the mechanisms and conditions established by the Islamic Republic and that the matter is not linked to the negotiations between Tehran and Muscat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-poder-geografico-y-estrategico\">Geographic and strategic power<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe moment the United States accepts Iran&#8217;s conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened, without a doubt,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The senior military official further underscored the importance of the strait for the Islamic Republic, indicating that Hormuz represents not only a route of economic relevance, but also an element of geographic and strategic power for Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Iranian authorities, the Persian country has reached an agreement with Oman in recent days regarding the geographical characteristics of a new shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz and is in the final phase of drafting a joint statement on that understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Iranian version, the new temporary navigation route will run partially through Iranian and Omani territorial waters and will allow the transit of commercial vessels under a new management scheme, replacing the provisional routes established until now by Tehran and Muscat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In mid-July, Iran announced a new closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world&#8217;s crude oil transited before the war, amid cross-attacks with the U.S. Washington responded by reinstating the naval blockade on Iranian ports and vessels, which paralyzed negotiations between both parties within the framework of the memorandum of understanding for peace signed on June 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iran has reiterated in recent days that an eventual agreement between Iran and Oman will not, by itself, mean the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-misil-impacta-contra-buque-de-emiratos-arabes-unidos-en-ormuz\">Missile impacts United Arab Emirates vessel in Hormuz<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the main state-owned energy company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reported this Saturday that a missile struck one of its vessels while it was transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, with no casualties reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;ADNOC announced that one of its vessels was attacked with a missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz in the early hours of Saturday, August 8.
