After the collision, the truck ended up overturned and the driver was trapped under the structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ver\u00f3n-Punta Cana Fire Department reported that it received the alert about the accident at 11:58 p.m. on Friday and that a first unit arrived at the scene around 12:08 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the condition in which the truck was left, other units were subsequently sent to support the rescue efforts. Firefighters used a crane and specialized equipment to free the driver, but he had passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other vehicle involved was a red Kia brand bus, with an approximate capacity of 80 passengers.
