The amount of the bond will be determined by consular officers, who will evaluate each case individually, taking into account financial, commercial, medical, and judicial aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Citizens&#8217; opinions were divided. One of those consulted considered the measure valid, although she understands that the amount is too high. &#8220;I think it&#8217;s a lot of money,&#8221; she expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another interviewee stated that every country has the right to establish its own immigration rules and that these must be respected by those who wish to enter its territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In contrast, another citizen questioned the initiative, considering that many people emigrate out of necessity and that a financial guarantee of that magnitude would only be within reach of those with high resources, which would limit the opportunities for those seeking to settle legally in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As explained by the U.S. Embassy, the bond would be required only in certain cases and constitutes a guarantee to demonstrate that the immigrant will have the necessary financial support and will not depend on public assistance during their stay in that country.
