Santo Domingo<\/strong>.- Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2023, Andre\u00edna Mart\u00ednez, broke her silence regarding the controversy she has with the national director of the pageant, Magalis Febles, and stated that she is tired of her participation in the contest and the events that occurred during 2023 being narrated from a single perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a video posted on her TikTok account, Mart\u00ednez explained that she decided to speak out after Febles made a comment related to a video that the former beauty queen had published talking about the medical and aesthetic procedures she has undergone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am tired of the only narrative that is always heard about my life and my participation in the same universe, which was in 2023, being one-sided,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Mart\u00ednez acknowledged that Febles was the one who introduced her to the doctor<\/strong> she referred to in her post, but denied that this fact implies a personal relationship of friendship or an obligation to “pay homage to him”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeing Miss Dominican Republic is a job. I didn’t go to be adopted, I didn’t go to be friends with the director,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The 28-year-old former queen also defended the commitment she made during her reign and asserted that she remained in the Dominican Republic to continue working with the organization, even though she subsequently lost her job in the United States, where she resides. \u201cDo not call me ungrateful when you do not know my story and know what I went through to be in the organization<\/strong>\u201d, she commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mart\u00ednez stated that she considers it unfair to be labeled as ungrateful without knowing the circumstances surrounding her time in the pageant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, she maintained that her intention from the beginning was to generate a change in the national pageant<\/strong> and highlighted the results she achieved during her career, including her participation in Miss Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI said: I want to be the first Andre\u00edna Mart\u00ednez. And I believe I fulfilled my mission. I said: I want there to be a before and after in Miss Dominican Republic Universe,\u201d she pointed out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Asks to leave controversies behind<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The former queen also lamented that news related to the Dominican Republic in the field of beauty pageants ends up focusing on controversies and not on the work of the candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am very embarrassed that when my Dominican Republic is talked about, it is not about the girls, the work, or the fact that we have qualified, but rather about all the controversy that always comes up with the director,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model asserted that there are no pending issues with Febles and recalled that they both had a meeting in which, according to her version, any differences could have been discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf there had been any pending issues, they would have been discussed in the meeting with my lawyers, but nothing was discussed there because there were none,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
