Of this amount, the chemical and mineral sector accounted for US$295 million, equivalent to 8.8% of national exports, with cement and copper among its main products. Both products together represented 4.8% of the total exported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the Dominican Association of Portland Cement Producers (ADOCEM), these results highlight the relevance of having a national industry with sufficient productive capacity to supply the local market and, at the same time, compete in international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCement is an example that the Dominican Republic has national industries capable of producing at scale, meeting domestic demand, and generating foreign currency through exports. Behind every ton exported, there is investment, employment, productive linkages, and industrial capacity installed in the country,\u201d stated Jorge David P\u00e9rez, president of ADOCEM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An industry with the capacity to supply the country and export<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Current export performance is supported by an industry that has spent years making investments to expand and modernize its production capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also read: ANPRAS positively weighs ITBIS exemption for AC-30 asphalt cement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Economic Profile of the Cement Industry in the Dominican Republic, prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), highlights the role of local manufacturing in the country&#8217;s export performance and economic growth. Within this productive fabric, the cement, lime, and gypsum manufacturing industry stands out for its contribution to industrial value added, its investment capacity, the generation of formal jobs, and its growing presence in international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This performance takes on special relevance in the regional context. According to the MICM Industrial Profile, during 2025 Latin America and the Caribbean exported US$581.3 million in cement, lime, and gypsum, of which the Dominican Republic contributed 25.4%, positioning itself as the main exporter of these products in the region.
